ME: I just re-read a book by Gary Chapman “The Five Love Languages.”
~
GOD: How’d you like it?
~
ME: Well I was wondering, what is your favorite love language?
~
GOD: What’s does that mean?
~
ME: Um, you know, the five love languages:
- Words of Affirmation
- Quality Time
- Receiving Gifts
- Acts of Service and
- Physical Touch—which is your favorite?
~
GOD: Tell me more.
~
ME: Okay, first, Words of Affirmation.
~
GOD: You mean like praise or saying positive things to me?
~
ME: Yes.
~
GOD: I like words of affirmation.
~
ME: Is it your favorite?
~
GOD: What’s second?
~
ME: Quality Time as in giving you my full and undivided attention.
~
GOD: I’d enjoy quality time.
~
ME: Is this your favorite?
~
GOD: What’s third?
~
ME: Receiving Gifts such as me giving you something and you not having to give something back.
~
GOD: Interesting. What’s fourth?
~
ME: Acts of Service.
~
GOD: For instance?
~
ME: Doing something for you by doing something for others.
~
GOD: I like acts of service.
~
ME: Yeah but is it your favorite?
~
GOD: What’s left?
~
ME: Fifth is Physical Touch.
~
GOD: You mean like tickling?
~
ME: I suppose that, but I was thinking of other things too.
~
GOD: I hold your hand all the time.
~
ME: So, is physical touch your favorite?
~
GOD: I like the love language Jesus said you should practice: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.” *
