Here I am, standing at this crossroads.
Doesn’t everyone have questions to ask and decisions to make?
Should I travel to the left?
Should I travel to the right?
I CAN’T SEE WHAT’S AHEAD
Will I resist or
Will I yield to
God’s internal work?
- Time to choose
- Time to step forward
- Time to turn right or
- Time to turn left.
Which road direction is more stress-free?
Which road to follow?
EVALUATING MY CHOICES
My heart is ready and anxious
“Lord, let’s build three tabernacles!”
Still, I’ve lived with myself long enough to realize that my positive thinking/actions unassisted can become an unworthy and empty exercise.
What I desire–in my better moments—is a maturing connectedness with God.
THIS OR THAT?
Choosing the path that heads this way means I will make life-changing decisions.
Choosing the path that heads that way means I will make life-changing decisions.
Either direction I choose to go means I may not be popular with my friends
- (Or the majority)
- (Or the minority)
- (Or anyone)
I might have to walk this or that road all alone.
SECURITY OR INSECURITY?
Following this route, I may have to sacrifice some personal pleasure.
Following this route, I won’t be able to do things my way.
Is this worth it?
- I prefer (ho-hum) routine (because it’s familiar)
- I don’t like pain.
- I prefer getting along
- I don’t like conflict.
- I prefer safe.
- I don’t like risk.
Right means uncertainty,
Left means self-reliance.
DARING TO GO RIGHT
- The right choice leads to joy
- The right decision offers treasure
- The right choice results in peace
- The right decision is worth it.
So, what is there to decide, really?
Will I go God’s way?
Yes or No?
- I choose Yes
- I choose Life.
- I choose cooperation with God’s Holy Spirit.
What are you going to do?
A few points to ponder while standing at a crucial point:
- Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. (Jesus, Luke 13:24):
- Only God gives inward peace, and I depend on him. (Psalm 62: 5);
- Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it. (Isaiah 30:21).
“Follow You” Leeland with Brandon Heath
Which Way Will You GO, Left or Right?
I’m standing at a crossroads, deciding which way to go.
Both roads lead to forever.
I recall God has given me (us) a gift: the power of choice.
How I use my gift is my decision.
If you spend the 4 minutes and 29 seconds listening to the song “Follow You” by Leland and Brandon Heath you’ll hear its message communicated that there are choices for each of us to make:
Do I decide to go left or do I decide to go right?
Only God knows.
- Every one has been at a crossroads.
- Everyone has stood at this spot.
- Everyone has stood here because everyone is human.
Crossroads are a part of our human temporary life.
Choices and decisions are made like it or not.
Whatever direction we choose to travel, there will be obstacles and challenges. Therefore, the choices/decisions we make deserve our time to think through carefully.
The Good News is we’re not alone. God hasn’t abandoned us to our own wisdom. Jesus is anywhere we are.
God’s Holy Spirit offers each of us help in selecting the correct path to follow.
I used to believe I was clever enough to go it on my own, but my life has been beaten up enough that now I know better.
As you consider your next move, be real.
God’s way is best. You can learn this the hard way, not learn it at all, or listen for the Lord’s whisper.
Jesus will confirm which road to follow.
