Dr. Larry Crabb mentioned this word in one of his devotionals.
Epiphany: Any moment of great or sudden revelation (dictionary definition).
Here are two epiphanies:
- The beauty of God’s grace (mercy, forgiveness) and
- The beauty of God’s glory (grand magnificence, splendor).
I’m (we’re) presently living between these two revelations “grace” and “glory.” Each epiphany is an insight into truth. Both are offered as God’s free gift.
- The gift of grace and
- The gift of glory.
If I ask, “What is this life about?”
It’s about spending my days living between these two epiphanies. The offered gift of God’s redemption (rescue) and the offered gift of existing in God’s eternal glory (esteemed presence).
Epiphany is a word that reveals gifts for my temporary and eternal welfare. These words are worth adding to my vocabulary.
