The doors swung open. We walked up the steps of the bus. The driver punched our ticket. We sat down three rows back on the passenger side. That’s when Ernie said, “You know, we don’t give God enough credit.”
Me: “Pardon me?”
Ernie: “We say the devil is in the details.”
Me: “Uh huh. That’s true isn’t it?”
Ernie: “Certainly evil is in the details, but let me ask you, is our enemy more in the details than God?”
Me: “Um …”
Ernie: “No way!”
Me: “What do you mean?”
Ernie: “Is the devil smarter than God?”
Me: “No, but …”
Ernie: “Can evil out maneuver God?”
Me: “I don’t …”
Ernie: “That’s the point, we forget God has no equal.”
Me: “Okay.”
Ernie: “Evil is an armature copycat when compared to God.”
Me: “Oh?”
Ernie: “Do you think God is intimidated by the devil?”
Me: “I’m …”
Ernie: “Silly idea, right? So, here it is, answer this: Who is really in the details?”
Me: “I guess …”
Ernie: “The correct answer is B. Stupid question.”
Me: “Fine, so how have things gotten so messed up?”
Ernie: “Like I said, we don’t give God enough credit.”
Me: “Meaning what specifically?”
Ernie: “Who’s game is it?”
Me: “I assume…”
Ernie: “Exactly, the devil doesn’t manipulate God. Evil manipulates us.”
Me: “And?”
Ernie: “We’re bullied into cooperating with the Lie instead of cooperating with the Truth.”
Me: “You mean …
Ernie: “Yes, God is at least ten thousand moves ahead of evil.”
Me: “So, what should we do?”
Ernie: “Learn to discern God working out the details of our circumstance.”
Me: “Isn’t that dangerous.”
Ernie: “Absolutely! It’s daring to live on Faith’s ledge.”
The bus pulled up to our stop. We stood up. We shuffled down the steps. And we went to work.
I began using Ernie’s free information and began noticing how God is organizing the details of my day.
