Wisdom worth paying attention to comes from everywhere. Of course, some of what passes for wisdom isn’t. But this wisdom comes from Og Mandino.
I tweaked it to make it mine, but other than that the principles are the same. See if these seem worthwhile to you.
“The Greatest Salesman in the World” Og Mandino
Create a do it now attitude:
Hafid’s First Ten Scrolls:
Message #1: I will form new habits and become their slave.
Message #2: I will greet this day with love in my heart.
Message #3: I will persist until I succeed.
Message #4: I am a miracle of God.
Message #5: I will live this day as if it is my last.
Message #6: Today I will be master of my emotions.
Message #7: I will laugh at the world.
Message #8: Today I will multiply my value a hundred fold. I will do the work failure will not do.
Message #9: I will act now.
Message #10:I will pray for fulfillment of God’s plan and purpose in my life.
“Part II The End of the Story.” Og Mandino
Hafid’s Second Ten Scrolls:
Vow #1: Never again will I pity or belittle myself.
Vow #2: Never again will I greet the dawn without a map.
Vow #3: Always will I bathe my days in the golden glow of enthusiasm.
Vow #4: Never again will I be disagreeable to a living soul.
Vow #5: Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every adversity.
Vow #6: Never again will I perform any task at less than my best.
Vow #7: Always will I throw my whole self into the task at hand.
Vow #8: Never again will I wait and hope for opportunity to embrace me.
Vow #9: Always will I examine, each night, my deeds of the fading day.
Vow #10: Always will I maintain contact, through prayer, with my Creator.
This isn’t the Bible, but, to me, there are some worthwhile thoughts expressed here. What do you think?
